Hullo! Clara Pond, fanfic writer, newely christened reviewer and Google+ Star Cult Community leader here! Absolutely excited to be welcomed into this blog's family! I love Emily's writings, and I think it's fantastic that I get to help with her blog!
Name/Nicknames: Clara Pond, Head Leader of Star Cult, Keeper of the Elever Ship, and Whovian Forever :)
Age: As old as the stars. Indeed, we have all existed since the beginning of time. Isn't that lovely? Of course, we could've been snails... but I know a lot of nice snails.
Location: Oh, depends. I think the Doctor's landing in '60's America next, which should be fun. Just left 221B. Sadly Sherlock wasn't home, but John was very nice.
How long have you been writing?
Hmm... since second grade. My first book was written with one of my best friends, and was entitled "The Adventures of Sharpie and Webbie." If you've ever seen a Tug pencil sharpener, the little flap that covers the sharpening holes looks kinda like a duck. That was Webbie. And Sharpie was a pencil shaving. They escaped our classroom and stole dragonfruit from an evil dragon. It was glorious. And full of spelling errors. And plot holes.
Now, how long have I been SERIOUSLY writing... probably a year or two. That's when I really started to bunker down on some story/poem/fanfic ideas. I wrote a fantasy book in fifth grade too, have to get that up sometime.
And what got you into it?
It took me FOREVER to get to read. All my teachers were worried I was slow. I was actually held back a year. But as soon as I got it, I became a bookaholic. And after I'd read the bookshelf, I started writing. I don't really know how that second grade story started, but before you know it my friend and I were illustrating a very strange ten page story. Very strange, yet still our writing.
What's your favourite fandom and why do you love it?
Oh dear. It's the question. The oldest question in the universe. The one I've been running away from all my life.
Sherlock.
My mother was actually just watching Brett's Sherlock when I was born in the hospital.
I started Brett when I was eight, started the short stories at ten, and then fell in love with BBC Sherlock after reluctantly agreeing to watch what I was convinced would be a horrible portrayal of Sherlock Holmes.
What will you be contributing to the blog?
I was in charge of writing reviews for House M.D. House, for those who don't know, is a medical drama based on Sherlock Holmes (House-Holmes? Yes? No?). If you haven't watched it, do. Hugh Laurie (who plays House) is quite possibly the most brilliant man on the planet (tied with Benedict Cumberbatch).
